Description of Elective Experience

We are an exclusive large animal practice in southwest Missouri.  We provide a multitude of large animal services, in-house film x-rays, some lab work, blood work to Antech or a university, surgeries, ultrasounds, hospitalization care, dairy and beef heard health, A.I., excellent indoor cattle working facility with hydraulic processing chute, hydraulic foot table, on the farm and in the clinic services, emergency services, etc.  Experienced support staff.

Excellent indoor cattle working facility with hydraulic processing chute, hydraulic foot table, on the farm (2 portable chutes / 1 portable alleyway) and in the clinic services, emergency services, etc.  We have some dairy heard healths during the week, we use an ultrasound on the short bred. We do some A.I. in beef and dairy cattle, goat, and equine. Experienced support staff.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

We are open Monday through Friday 7:30 to 5:30 and on Saturday 7:30 to 4:00. We have some emergency services at night. The students' abilities and grade level, are the deciding factors on how much they do while they are here. If a student is willing to and has the drive to learn, the more we let them do.
