Description of Elective Experience

7 doctor practice. General practice that typically sees dogs, cats, small animals (rabbits, rats, gerbil, etc), poultry. At our practice we do appointments (wellness and sick), surgery (mostly soft tissue), dentistry, radiographs, ultrasound, blood work, anesthesia, acupuncture, etc.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Digital radiographs, ultrasound, cold laser therapy, in house blood work, acupuncture

7 doctor practice with several licensed veterinary technicians. 

 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

M-F 8-4 PM. Along with one weekend shift Saturday 8-3, Sunday stop in to check on patients at 8 am and 5pm

Since we are a multi doctor practice student will have the option of following in surgery or appointments.
