Description of Elective Experience

The student would be assisting in treatments and surgery.  

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

We have 2 vetererinarians at one location and our second location 1 veterinarian, in house lab machines, digital radiograph, surgery suite and dental in our main location in Kitty Hawk, NC. As for staff, in Kitty Hawk, we have 8 support staff members from techs to receptionist, and practice manager who is the manager for both clinics (one tech is licensed). In our Buxton location there are 3 support staff. We are full services, boarding, grooming, surgery, and routine care.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

The student will be shadowing the veterinarian and our licensed technician and given responsibilities accordingly. Hours will be 8-530 depending for at least 4 days, 5 if she chooses
