Description of Elective Experience

Small animal general practice with a high caseload. Students will be expected to be involved in appointments ranging from wellness to sick appointments. Students will be performing surgeries (spay/neuter, mass removals, laceration repairs) and dentals (extractions and cleaning) under DVM supervision. We manage a population of lower income clients where students will learn to work up a case within a given budget to fit a clients needs.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Students are expected to work 40+ hours a week under DVM supervision. We are open for walk ins M 8am-6pm, appointments TTh 8am-530pm, WF 8am-5pm. Students will be involved in outpatient care, inpatient care (if available), surgery and dentistry.
