Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

During their 2-week externship rotation, students are expected to show up on time, be fully engaged with the staff, and take an active role in their learning experience. It's important to ask questions, try new things, and chat through cases to deepen understanding. The more involved students are, the more they’ll gain from the experience, so they are encouraged to embrace every opportunity to learn and contribute. They will spend time working on their technical skills, working up cases with the Dr, observing/scrubbing in for surgeries, interacting with clients and patients, and much more! The Practice Manager will reach out to student 1 week prior to externship to discuss schedule. Students should expect about 40 hours per week.
