Description of Elective Experience

Based on the students comfort level, they will shadow during appointments giving opportunities to also perform examinations, suggest ddx, suggest testing, review testing results, help develop treatment plans etc. They are encouraged to assist with surgical and dental procedures.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Several RVTs and veterinary assistants. 2 full time 1 part time DVM. Digital radiology, inhouse labwork, some ultrasound.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Typically, students will come in on my days resulting in about 35 hours a week, mostly shadowing.
