Charles River Laboratories is a global contract research organization, working to help companies get new drugs to market. The Shrewsbury, MA site works in drug discovery and safety assessment, running early pharmacokinetic and toxicology studies. Students will work alongside five clinical veterinarians, gaining experience in the day-to-day life of a laboratory animal veterinarian. Experiences may include (depending on current caseload and projects) IACUC review and meetings, emergency case response and management, colony health, GLP requirements, infection control and biosecurity, and behavioral management. Students will work with mice, rats, beagles, and NHPs in a laboratory setting.
Our team consists of five clinical veterinarians. We have on-site histopathology, radiology, and clinical pathology.
