Description of Elective Experience

Majority mobile equine practice that sees mostly sport horse and general practice cases.  Clinic has a haul in facility with indoor arena for those clients that don't have one available.  

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

Four veterinarian practice.  Each veterinarian has a veterinary technician/assistant.  There are 3 office personnel.  The practice has digital radiography/ultrasonography.  Dentals are performed with speculum and powered dental equipment.  Lameness exams are worked up with diagnostic analgesia, radiography, ultrasonography and treatments include intra-articular, intra-lesion therapies and non-invasive extracorporeal shock wave procedures.  

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Practice has regular hours of 8AM-5PM hours Monday-Friday.  Emergency is available 24-7.  Student is expected to work during regular hours.  Emergency hours can be arranged if convenient.
