Students will work alongside experienced emergency veterinarians, assisting with procedures such as wound care, fluid therapy, and emergency surgeries. Expect a fast-paced environment where students refine their clinical decision-making, improve technical skills, and enhance their ability to handle high-pressure situations. This rotation will provide valuable exposure to real-world emergency medicine, preparing students for the challenges of veterinary practice.
Student will mirror DVM schedule and role in the clinic floor and will play co-clinician role in triaging and discussing cases. Assist in surgeries and procedures, and partake in all client communications. Student will work overnight and swing shifts during week 1 and one overnight and 3 day shifts in week 2. Total DVM hours available for student = 112 (option to cut 1-2 days and/or shorten 14 hr overnights if there is a need to decrease hours)
