Beadle Lake Veterinary Clinic, MI

Description of Elective Experience

We work with many colleges to help prepare students with general practice experience.  Yearly we have 3-4 students here for credit hours and many more just looking to increase knowledge or learn alternative medicine.

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

We have up to date technology and the wisdom of 5 veterinarians with 5 different backgrounds.  We have digital xrays and ultrasound, provide altenative medicine, perform dentistry, practice general medicine, and service performance animals.  Our support staff is engaged in the daily activities.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Minimal of Monday thru Friday, 8am - 5pm.  Some days do start as early as 6:30am and do not finish until after 7pm.  Saturday from 8am - 12pm, plus any emergencies that come in that morning.  After hour emergencies are not mandatory; they are optional for the student.

Student Housing (include costs, amenities, pet friendly, contact info if different from elective contact info)

We can help find a place if needed.
