Description of Elective Experience

Work alongside shelter veterinarians at the ASPCA Cruelty Recovery Center, caring for canine victims of natural or man-made disasters. 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Every effort will be made to maintain a 40-hour internship week, with most hours occurring between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Weekend hours will be required. Interns should be ready for a combination of shadowing and hands-on participation. The internship will take place under the close supervision of a veterinarian at all times; some tasks will be directly supervised by a Registered Veterinary Technician.
