Description of Elective Experience

This clinic offers both high-volume spay/neuter and other soft-tissue surgeries as well as general practice services. Hands-on and/or shadowing experience in all of these departments will take place during the designated externship time.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

The student will be expected to work 4 10-hour days between Monday through Friday. On these days, the student will be stationed in one department and under the supervision of one of our three full-time veterinarians. They will shadow and be provided with hands-on experience. The hands-on experience may include performing spay/neuter surgery and performing exams on patients being seen through general practice.
