Student will complete a clinical elective at our small animal practice, working with veterinarians and staff to gain advanced experience in companion animal medicine. She will participate in patient evaluation, case discussions, and development of diagnostic and treatment plans under supervision.
She will be exposed to a variety of medical and surgical cases and will have opportunities to assist with examinations, procedures, and client communication. This experience is intended to support their transition into clinical practice.
Our small animal practice is staffed by licensed veterinarians and trained support staff who provide mentorship and supervision. The clinic is equipped with in-house diagnostic capabilities, including laboratory equipment for bloodwork and urinalysis, digital radiography, and dental equipment.
Additional resources include fully equipped exam rooms, a surgical suite for routine procedures, anesthesia monitoring equipment, and pharmacy supplies. The student will have access to medical records, case discussions, and direct interaction with the veterinary care team to support their clinical learning.
The student will complete approximately 40 hours during regular business hours, June 8-12,2026. They are expected to be punctual, professional, and engaged.Responsibilities will primarily include observing patient care, participating in case discussions, and assisting with basic clinical tasks as appropriate under supervision. The student may observe procedures and client communication while integrating into the veterinary team environment.
