Description of Elective Experience

Animal Care Center of Tiffin is a two doctor practice, Dr. Mark Hagen (OSU '89) and Dr. Katie Daniel (OSU '14). We practice primarily small animal medicine and surgery but also offer limited large animal services with Dr. Daniel. We have four registered technicians, two veterinary assistants, and two receptionists. Dr. Daniel also performs surgeries and medical oversight for the local humane society once weekly at their shelter's location.

Full in house laboratory, radiograph, ultrasound, surgery, dental and reference library.

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

Students are expected to be present during normal office hours (9-5 M,T,Th,F and 8-12 W,Sat). Performing tasks such as cleaning, client communication, restraint, physical exams, labwork and other appropriate activities is encouraged with the student's comfort level. The student is expected to ask questions about cases at appropriate times and to actively participate in the forming of diagnostic plans, differential diagnoses, treatment plans and prognoses.
