Description of Elective Experience

This is a high volume shelter that offers opportunities in shelter medicine, high volume spay/neuter, and low cost care.  

Institutional and Educational Resources - staffing, equipment, etc.

This is a multi doctor facility with a total of 60 employees. They have a large surgical suite for high volume spay neuter, dentistry, xray, ultrasound, in house laboratory. The shelter houses 30+ dogs and 200+ cats  at a time. They also have animals out in foster care as well. 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

40 hours/ week 

4-5 days/week 

participate in high volume spay/neuter 

shelter medicine practice
