Description of Elective Experience

The American Fondouk is a unique nonprofit organization dedicated to providing people-to-people aid through offering free veterinary care for the hard-working donkeys, mules, and horses of Morocco. Treating working animals in the developing world is considered to offer a significant contribution towards safeguarding the livelihoods of the poorest and most vulnerable members of the community, both in the towns and in the countryside

Dr. Ahmed Khairoun, DVM MS, Adjunct Assistant Professor at Purdue University, USA, and Former LA resident in surgery at Purdue University, USA

Dr. Imane Ait Nasr, DMV, former Equine intern at Glasgow and Dubai Equine Hospital

Dr. Nouhaila hassani, DMV, former Equine intern at Glasgow

Dr. Amina, DMV, former Equine intern at Glasgow

Dr. Ichrak, DMV,  former Equine intern at Glasgow

Equipment: Radio, Ultrasound, Endoscop, Hematology, Biochimie, Centrifuge, SAA, Lactate, Anesthesia machine, OR, Necrospy room, etc

 

Student Responsibilities - what is expected of students in terms of hours, days of the week, shadowing or actual support?

We consistently have 4 interns and 6 international students, allowing the students to work closely with both interns and clinicians.
