Student we be participating in client intakes, history taking, physical exams, problem list, diagnostic plans, and practicing medical records. Also assisting in soft tissue surgery, dental procedures, interpreting radiographs and practicing abdominal point if care ultrasound. This is an outpatient care facility with some urgent care appointments.
Student will be shadowing a dvm. We have 2 full time veterinarians, 3 technicians and 2 vet assistants. Our practice has digital standard and dental radiography, in house ultrasound, in house laboratory equipment ( idexx) anesthesia monitors, mechanical ventilator, and electronic medical records.
Student is expected to participate 8:30am to 6 pm Monday through Friday with a hour lunch break. Student will be performing initial history taking and developing plans for diagnostics, interpreting diagnostic results and developing a treatment plan for outpatient wellness visits and sick patient visits.
